tag!!!

Jasper was invited to "do running" with a bunch of kids outide granny's house and they taught him how to play tag so he ran around with them for about an hour and kept up no problem! He was totally knackered afterwards and went straight to bed.

Mummy does lunch

Mummy took advantage of an early crashout and while Jasper was sleeping I found a nice little Bistro and had a very tasty chicken and bacon caesar salad and a nice crisp glass of Chenin Blanc. yummy yummy yummy

pretty girls

Once again Jasper finds the prettiest girl in the park and this time persuades her to be a passenger in his avion. She of course is elegant and aloof so Jasper plays it cool in his aviator shades.

He even asks her if she's ready and then offers her a share of his in flight ginger biscuit. The bickie generosity definitely pays off as he is invited for a game of hopscotch! Again unsure of the rules, he prefers to shout "Ready! Go!" and leg it from one end to the other but the girls are very happy to let him play his own way.

lucky boy!!

Jasper is delighted with his pressie of a new truck with a trailer and racing car

Grandpa's toys

Jasper was thrilled when Grandpa brought his own toybox out and "did sharing". They found a wind up train, 3 hook up trailers, a haystack, 3 people, 2 horses a giraffe and a hippo. And a tractor with spiky wheels.

a yellow truck and a big yellow digger please

a very happy chappie in training for big dippers in future years

pretty lights!

On Sunday we found a fair in Chiswick much to Jasper's delight and we found a lucky dip stall where you could win some dodgy acrylic animals if you weren't too careful. We were lucky and won the booby prize: a blue monkey with sequins on it inside a large balloon. Jasper was completely impressed!

snooze in starbucks

After the dinosaurs we headed back towards the Kings Road and took a pit stop in Starbucks. We were lucky enough to find some free sofas at the back...

DINOSAUR!!!

This is the big one in the entrance hall that inspired Jasper to walk around most of the exhibition in big giant dinosaur steps. We loved all the dinos but the animatronic TRex was a bit too scary so we headed for the blue whale and the hippos before heading for daylight again armed with a dinosaur sticker book.

going to see the dinosaurs!

we're ready!

where next, dad?

flagging slightly, Jasper hitches a ride back to the tube station

seeeeesaaaaaaaw!

Rebecca and Freddie took us to their local park which was brilliant and the “one o’clock club” where there were lots of fantastic toys to play on and things to do and the boys ran around for a couple of hours having a wonderful time. Jasper managed to persuade a bigger boy to pull him along on a trolley for 10 minutes or so (how does he do that??) and Freddie mastered pedalling! They enjoyed meeting each other very much and had great fun playing together

cafe society

We decided to stop off on the way to Brixton in order to ponce about in Sloane Square and have breakfast in Oriel. Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and a croissant later we piled back on the tube to visit Rebecca and Freddie.

off to the big smoke

Mummy and Jasper were very excited to be getting on the train to see Daddy, and to stay with Sarah and Simon in their fab new house. Jasper was particularly thrilled to be on a “biiiig train” that went “reallyreallyfast"

party party!

Jasper was invited to Sam’s 1st birthday party and really got into musical bumps. Wasn’t quite sure of the rules, but quickly decided they didn’t matter too much and jumping was the most important bit!

hello mr snail!

...and we found this little snail on the path so we moved him very gently to the wall. He very obligingly came out again straight away so Jasper had a quick chat, decided he was probably off to find his mummy and waved him goodbye.

hello bumble bees!

We walked to the cafe this morning and on the way we passed the lavender bushes so we stopped to say good morning to the bumble bees. Jasper walked the whole way all by himself, carrying his carbag and his Charlie and Lola rucksack with his stickers and colours in it, ready for his coffee break!

Picassito

Jasper gets serious and puts on his smock to get large with the creativity. He particularly got into washing the brushes and mixing the colours and even had the tip of his tongue poking out at one point.

Jasper and his new Doodles.

bongers

Jasper got the hang of the bongers straight away and was playing little tunes and boogying away to himself watched by a gang of 8 year olds who couldn't figure out how to make it work!

bag o chips int rain

A visit to the Science Museum would not have been complete without a rainshower and a bag of chips on a soggy bench outside. Here is Jasper enjoying Manchester's finest!

on the trams

We went to Manchester again on Saturday, and took the tram from Piccadilly much to Jasper's delight! He wanted to sit in the round twisty bit between carriages and thought it was great when his seat was doing different things to Mummy's!

big love for trains

Walking towards the train station again on Saturday Jasper grinned from the moment we left the house until the minute we got off the tram in the city centre!

on the train

Jasper and Mummy went to Manchester on the train...big excitement! We walked to the train station in Heaton Chapel and there was lots of jumping up and down and squeaking before our train finally arrived. The journey was spent either in awed silence gazing out of the window, or large grinning and pointing!

keep em coming!

Despite Kate trying to teach Jasper to say "Manchester United Forever", she did concede a few puffs to keep our little Hammer fan amused.

Qat's turn!

Lots more bubbles please! No, you can't leave, I need MORE BUBBLES!

up up and away

Jasper was thrilled to meet Kate and Qat and was even more delighted that they had a bottle of bubbles in their house. He was a little disappointed that the bubbles were going up into the clouds and spent a few minutes searching in the shrubbery shouting "Bubbles, where are you???" but then we made some more and everyone got to share the blowing part.

chilling in Room 58579

Another necessary trip to the park on Wednesday, and more chilling in the cafe afterwards. I think Jasper feels quite at home there now, and all the staff recognise him and say hi!

chatting up groovy chicks in the cafe

On Tuesday we went to the park then to the cafe with Sue, who helped Jasper with his stickers.

ooh, look, avion...

We went to a park with Connor to feed the ducks, except the ducks had all hidden so we played on the slide and had ice creams.

biiiig wheeeeel!!

This is the wheel Jasper was pointing out to Daddy, in case Daddy had missed it.

taking in the sights

Jasper and Daddy mooch near the triangle in Manchester city centre.

look! bet you've never seen that before Daddy

Jasper shows his Daddy the delights of Manchester

hanging with Daddy

Daddy came to stay in Manchester at the weekend, here are two cool cats hanging out and eating ice cream.

movin to the groove

We visited Ali in their new pad and the boys had a groove to the tunes playing in the hallway. The Mummies managed to keep them going for about half an hour and they both slept well that night!

after the floods

After being evacuated up north earlier than planned, Jasper gets into the swing of things in Manchester on his first day with Connor and they spend their "getting to know you" time chasing each other screaming around the park. Jasper takes a shine to the spinny things and practises being a circus plate spinner by running between them and keeping them all turning.
